IN a concerted effort to pursue the truth surrounding the system and result of the first automated elections which is marred with allegations of irregularities and fraud, multi-sectoral groups will gather together in a RALLY FOR TRUTH today, 08 June 2010, 10:00AM, at the South Gate of Batasang Pambansa.
Expected to join the rally are Sen. Jamby Madrigal, Nicanor Perlas, and JC Delos Reyes. Other invitees include Bayani Fernando, Lito Atienza, Homobono Adaza, and peoples’ movements such as Concerned Citizens Movement, Kontra Daya, PMP Sulong Pilipino, Agrarian Reform group, Bagumbayan Party, Bangon Pilipinas Party, and Philippine Computer Society.
Issues to be covered include:
1. Petition for a National Manual Count to verify and confirm the election results;
2. Action to ratify the transgression of the implementation of the spirit and letter of the Election Automation Law;
a. Voter’s vote verification feature
b. BEI’s Digital Signature
3. Full investigation of the allegations of election fraud, which is sought to be participated in by Philippine Computer Society, Center for People Empowerment in Governance, and other non-partisan, civic, and professional organizations to determine the accuracy and reliability of the PCOS machines.
